On 27 July 2026, participated in the "AGCID's 2025 Participatory Public Accountability Session and 2026 Progress Update" organised by the Chilean Agency for International Development Cooperation (AGCID) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile. The presentation was led by Mr Henry Julien O'Farrill, CEO of AGCID, who highlighted the Agency's key achievements, ongoing initiatives and priorities in international development cooperation.
On 24 July 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team paid a protocol call on Mr. Álvaro González, Undersecretary of Chile's Ministry of Mining. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss strengthening India-Chile cooperation in the mining sector, with a particular focus on facilitating Indian companies interested in investing in Chile's mining industry. On 29 June 2026, the Embassy participated in a virtual meeting with its partners in the Government of Uttar Pradesh to discuss the 4th Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, scheduled to be held from 25-29 September 2026. The meeting provided an overview of the trade show and its potential to strengthen international business partnerships. As one of India's premier B2B trade exhibitions, UPITS will showcase opportunities across sectors including agriculture, food processing, textiles, engineering, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, IT and handicrafts.
On 23 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi participated in the Protocol Reception for the Diplomatic Corps hosted by H.E. President José Antonio Kast at La Moneda Palace. H.E. On 22 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi held a meeting with Mr. Pablo Salgado, Director of International Relations at Global Consulting and discussed ongoing bilateral collaborative initiatives in scientific and cultural domains between India and Chile including cooperation in Antarctic research, education and environmental protection. Both India and Chile view Antarctica as a global common, which needs to be protected as per the provisions of the Antarctica Treaty System.

The event concluded with traditional Indian refreshments, reinforcing the enduring bonds of friendship, wellness and cultural exchange between India and Chile.

The Embassy of India, Santiago celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on 26 January 2026 at the Embassy premises with great enthusiasm and pride. Ambassador Ms. Abhilasha Joshi, along with Embassy officials and their families, was joined by members of the Indian diaspora in Chile and friends of India, creating a truly warm and festive gathering. The celebrations began with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the soulful singing of the National Anthem by all attendees. Ambassador Joshi then read out the Hon'ble President of India's Address to the Nation, and shared highlights of the past year that saw a tremendous upturn in India-Chile relations, strengthening cooperation and people to people ties. An engaging exhibition showcasing Indian tourism, diverse States of India, Ayurveda and wellness traditions, and Khadi added a vibrant cultural touch. Patriotic songs played throughout the event, which concluded with Indian refreshments, fostering a joyful Republic Day spirit. Jai Hind!.
On 14 August 2025, the Embassy of India, Santiago hosted a grand reception to mark the 79th Independence Day of India. The event was honoured by the presence of H.E. Alberto van Klaveren, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, as the Chief Guest, alongside H.E. Esteban Valenzuela, Minister of Agriculture and Ms. Claudia Sanhueza, Undersecretary of International Economic Relations. More than 200 distinguished guests, including senior Chilean officials, senators, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, academics, Indian diaspora and friends of India in Chile, joined the celebrations.
